CRM V9

Currently we run a CRM system in house ( v8.2), and through the last year, I have compiled a list of things I would like our new CRM project to be able to do. One of these is auto emailing a receipt to our customers.

Customers are using a WebApp to submit data into a legacy SQL system. This in turn runs SSIS to import that data to a CRM custom entity. I would like to email a receipt to the customer that the data has been received. That in itself isn't a problem, but I would like to use an email template that carries our company logo and the same layout as our normal company emails.  I know this can be done according to the internet / threads, but I'm looking for suggestions on current solutions or best practice to accomplish this.

    Hi,

If you like to display the receipt in email body.

I am afraid with email template, you cant achieve what you wanted. You have to use Create email function inside a workflow and use custom workflow to build the table and attach inside the email body.

You can either build your own custom workflow, or use below third party tool.

    Two things:

    1. You can create a workflow which send email using receipt and include image( simply copy image from company website and paste in the compose email section , the image should have a public hyperlink to it.)

    2. If you want to create an email template - you can do that as well , put image same way mentioned above. To create email template for custom entity use below my blog:  passion4dynamics.com/.../how-to-insert-dynamic-values-from-custom-entities-in-an-email-template-microsoft-dynamics-crm

later you can send email using a workflow using this template or use SDK code to send email. Basically depends on your choice and requirement.
