Hello,

I'm new to Business Central, and I'm trying to figure out how I can create an item that is essentially a subscription to a service (e.g. a 9.99 subscription for 1 month of XYZ). I was wondering how this could be achieved, and if the recurring billing can be entered in Business Central.
I have the same question (0)

Hi, I think you only need to create an item of Service type. You can set the base unit to Month.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

You can use Recurring Sales Invoices for this - this would require only BC Essentials license.
You can set up several subscription packages (lines for G/L account or Item with type Service (mentioned in ZHU's reply) and define a period for which this is active for each Customer (or without ending date if it is ongoing). Then each month just generate the Sales Invoices and post them.

This could also be achieved using Service Contracts and Service Invoices, but this requires BC Premium license.

Haven't worked with these, so not sure what are the limitations or challenges with this - but should be doable.
