Dear Gents;

I am Trying to add one new field i.e. Fixed Asset location to the fixed assets balance report but the problem is this is a query based report and data is coming from a view named AssetBalances. I try to add a display method on this view but method is not returning anything...

Can somebody guide me how can i use display method on views or how can i display location in this report..

Thanks and regards...

    Hi

    Why do you need a display method? Why don't you just add the field to the view normally, and then add it to the query?

    Hi Mohamed,

    You can set DataSet to point to query. Then use display method as a field.

    Follow this step:
    In Visual Studio, set dataset to point to the query. The display methods will be shown in the dataset after the list of fields.
    In the design of reports, the display method is like a field.
    Look at the report CustGrossMarginByAccount_NA.

    I hope it will help you.

    Adding field makes sense as Brandan mentioned . If field  you needed is present in view datasources , you can add it directly . If not , please share more details about your method  which is not returning any value.
