Trying to use Warehouse management and Quality control in AX2012 R3 CU8

Hi,

We are using Warehouse management, and are using hand held scanners in the warehouse to registrer PO's and pick to production, but I have come across a problem. I have testet a lot over the last 2 months and been trying to find post about this also, but I have not been able to solve my problem.

When we registrer a PO, it should generete a Quality order and an Inventory blocking. Both happens, but not as it should (or atleast as I want it to)

If I registrer 3 serial controlled items, it will generate 3 seperate quality orders, but only 1 inventory blocking line, and I am still able to move the items from the Quality location because for some reason they are still marked as 'Available'.

Anyone who is using WHS and Quality orders who have found a way around this ??

Thanks in advance for your replies

    Hi Dechau,

In AX 2012 R3 the way of integrating WHS and Quality orders is through the new "Inventory Status" dimension. That dimension is the third storage dimension level (after Site and Warehouse).

If your inventory status is a blocking-type then you won't be able to change Site-Warehouse-Invetory Status quantities available for your item but you can change any dimension below them in hierarchy (such as location).

Have you tried checking the option "Full blocking" on your "Item sample" setup?

    Hi Nick,

We are using the 'Inventory status' yes, but its just not wotking

I have tried both with and with out the Full blocking, neither gave me the wanted effect :(

I believe this has been set yet, but can you guide me to where I set this option to be sure?

Hi, we are using quality orders in combination with advanced warehouse management.

So if you are saying that the products are being received with inventory status 'Available' means you didn't set up Default Item Status. This links the vendor account, the item, and the status together.

When you create a purchase order the inventory status becomes the default value set in the Default item status for that vendor.

So the receiving then happens with new inventory status. This will create a line in the inventory blocking. If you have a quality association on top of that you'll get a second line on the inventory blocking for the quality order.
