Microsoft form - use power automate to create employee record in dynamics HR

Posted on by 281

Hi Community,

I want to be able to fill out a Microsoft form and then create an automation that creates an employee in the system. However I'm a bit stuck on the work number section. See below:

If I was to manually create a new employee profile in Dynamics Hr that employee would automatically be assigned a worker number - how would I work around this within power Automate? Can anybody suggest some ways on how I would do this?

Regards,

HS

    Hi there,

You can do it via Power Platform.

    Hi Darcy,

Thanks for getting back to me. And sorry for the late reply.

Thats a good idea...but i agree, I would definitely want to be able to create a workers profile manually in the system without impacting the automation.

So the connectors are forms and dataverse if that's what you mean? The table I am using is cdm_worker ('worker')

    Regards,

    Hi HS.

So I don't know that particular entity that you are trying to use, but one thing you could do is fetch the latest Personnel Number that was used and increment it by one. However, this would mean that you would have to allow that field to be manual, so then if you ended up creating a worker by using the system then you will be in the same spot.

What connector and action are you using there? I just wanted to do some playing around and see what I can see.
