Hello.
I'm trying to delete the guide, but a pop-up window keeps showing that the record is associated with another record and cannot be deleted.
The error code is 0x80040227.
What should I do in this case? It happens too often. How can I delete this?
I want to force the guide to be deleted.
Thank you.
Hi junwoo,
Does this error look like the one shown in the screenshot below?
The reason for this error is that the current record has an associated child record that prevents it from being deleted.
Firstly, you need figure out what type of records can restrict deletions, which is the entity of the child record.
--Clicking 'Show Details' and Download Log File.
Open the file, find the relationship name and related entity:
If you want to delete the guide, you need to delete the related Guide Operator Session(msmrw_GuideSession) records firstly:
Or you can try to change 'Type of behavior' for Delete on the 'msmrw_GuideSession_Guide_msmrw_guide' relationship if you don't want to delete records manually every time.
--Select 'Cascade All' or 'Remove Link' options.
Thank you very much. I solved it with your help.^^
Hi Leah, thank you so much for your help!
I also encountered this error and think your solution is beneficial.
May I ask if this tip could be added as a footnote within the Guides documentation (how to Delete a Guide)?:
