NAV Permissions Sets and Roles

Good morning,

I am new to this forum so excuse me if I'm asking a question that has already been answered.  I tried a few searches and didn't find what I was looking for.

Where can I find documentation on Permission Sets and what their user role may be?  For example permission set P&P - Q/O/I/R/C which role would this typically be used for?  Is there a matrix anywhere that could tell me this?

I need a guide that will tell me what the typical permission sets for a person in Accounts Receivable may be, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, etc?

Thank you.

RE: NAV Permissions Sets and Roles

    Hi

By default there are few default permissions roles and set are provided and you can select the roles and apply to users

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh893421(v=nav.90).aspx

Even though you can record the permission and create your own permission and apply to users.

RE: NAV Permissions Sets and Roles

    Dear  ArizonaGal ,

There are several predefined  sets on NAV inbuilt as image

    ps.JPG

    But

I suggest you better make your own permission sets for your users , because its easy way to handle

NAV new versions let Admins to handle by user wise , group wise

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are no specific permission sets to each and every functions ,  better ways is you can create a new set and assign the permission that you want in to your new permission set

after that you can assign your new permission set to users or user group

If you create a new permission set ,  make sure you need to add 2 more mandatory permission sets along with your new permission set

    those  are.....

    ADCS ALL

    BASIC

(You can find these 2 permissions on your permission sets )

Further reference to learn and create permission sets please refer the links .....
