Hi there,
We would like to take off batch tracking on an item.
What i have done is made sure no transactions are open for transactions.
I have made sure no stock in system for that product.
When I run the "change tracking dimension" function. I get the following errors. (I am using moving average costing)
The new dimension group cannot be assigned. Physical inventory transactions might exist and/or financial inventory transactions are not fully settled, while 'Activate closing of non-financial transfers' is set to Yes.
I have tried an inventory closing (not that it makes sense with moving average), but this doesn't work. The parameter 'Activate closing of non-financial transfers', i can find it in AX2012 but not in D365 FnO Inventory parameters.
Can you please help to achieve this?
Thank you.
Thanks Andre. There are no transactions for the specific product I tested.
But it seems to be because of moving average. It cant be done unfortunately.
Hi Shaun,
In addition, the error is also raised when there are item transactions on e.g. sales or purchase orders with an open, deducted or received status.
Hi Shaun,
Can not do that.
Hi Matt,
Thank you. So are we saying it isnt possible when using moving average?
Thank you,
Shaun
Hi Shaun,
Only all transactions of the item are closed, then the dimension can be changed.
But for moving average item, can not closed the transaction even if the inventory is close.
It is better to create a new item with the new dimension.
