Rebuild index Online crash batch process

When the maintenance plan execute rebuild online on our sql server during batch process, sometimes we get the error "Could not complete cursor operation because the table schema changed after the cursor was declared".

Rebuild online is not supposed to prevent that?

    Hi Thomas,

no idea at all, but take a look here

    sqlperformance.com/.../hotfix-sql-2012-rebuilds

Maybe this could be the cause??????

    Hello Douglas,

Thank you for your answer. My version number (11.0.3437 < 11.0.3460 < 11.0.5057) doesn't seems to be affected by this bug.

    Hi Thomas,

sorry you are right. I haven't read exactly.

But found some interesting thing. Similar things in Dynamics NAV seems to lead to the same messages even with SQL Server 2012. The Workarounf for NAV is, that the CURSORS used should be opened with SCROLL_LOCKS option.

Seems to be still a bug.

same bug in older ax version / sql server version

    regards
