AX 2012 R3 failed to create session, during synchronization of database

While trying to resynchronize the database for R3 with SQL server, we are receiving an error

"Failed to create a session,  confirm that the user has proper privileges to log on to Microsoft Dynamics"

We checked all the privileges and all privileges look right. We have run the script as per the website http://gappet.blogspot.com/2013/12/ax2012-r2-failed-to-create-session.html, which did nothing. Appreciate any help on this.

    1.Restart the AOS

    2.Do an incremental CIL compile

    3.Do a full CIL compile

If you get an error saying you cant complete the CIL then do a full LOCAL compile of the AOT. Then try steps 2 & 3 again.

Once you have a good CIL & Compile do the sync.

If that doesn't work one of the other things you can try is Right Click on the AX.exe and  "Run as Admin"  then do the steps above.

    Hi ,

Open the Application workspace and navigate to File-->Tools-->Options-->General-->Click on Apply the session will be created for that user.

I have faced the same issue time ago.

I have tried all these options but still same error.

All SQL rights are in place.

Kindly help to know root cause.

    Hi,

today i have the same Error during a synch. I have three records (initial, PS, cube) in the Partitions Table but only one record for the Admin User in the UserInfo Table. I copy the Adminuser record for each Partition in UserInfo and Change the value in column "Partition". Now i have three admin records in the UserInfo Table with different Values in the Partition Column.

After that the Synch works fine.

    Regards

    Henrik

i found three partitions in the Partition Table but only one Dataset in the USerInfo

    Hi Henrik,

I have the same scenario as yours. May I know how did you copy the Admin user to each partition please?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi,

    try this:

open the Table dbo.UserInfo (Edit top 200 rows) in SQL Server Management Studio, copy the admin user row and paste it at the end. Change the Partition Column to the right value for the missing partitions and resynch the application.

    Regards

    Henrik
