"File Not Found VBA6.DLL" Error

Hello:

The client is GP 10.00.1757, and the client is not registered for Modifier with VBA.  They only have the Customization Site License.  All of the workstations are getting this issue.  But, there is only one workstation that needs this issue eliminated.  (The users at the other workstations do not use this customization, anyway.)

The workstation that I speak of is a 64-bit Windows 7 workstation with 32-bit Office 2007.

The customization, here, is one that the client's previous Partner had developed for the Item Maintenance window.  When the customization "fires", it gives off the famous "VBA6.DLL File Not Found" error.

Again, the client does not have VBA, so I can't effectively choose anything in the "References" menu.  So, the steps that I have seen in that one blog cannot be attempted.

And, I tried the steps in one of the cases here on this Forum.  That case called for registered the VBE6.dll file, which I finally found and registered.  But, the other step called for unregistering the msvbvbm60.dll??? file.  When I tried that it said, "Module not found".

Sigh....then, I tried to download the VBA6 core components since someone on a blog said to install them.  But, I kept getting that stupid error where you are told to go to ds.transfers.microsoft.com.  But, even though I subsequently downloaded and installed that msi file, the Microsoft site would not let me download those files.

OK.  What do I do to fix this, given these really impossible circumstances?

I have tried downloading and running the "VB DLL File Missing" fix, as well as the following blogs, but nothing works:

The solution was found in a new article that is going to be published by Microsoft eSupport engineer, Greg Wilson.  The following are Greg's steps:

    1.           Make a package file of ALL customizations on the machine that is having the issue.

    2.           Close Dynamics GP and rename all Modified Forms and Reports dictionaries and all .VBA files.

    3.           Un-register the 'MSVBVM60.DLL file:

    •            For a 64-bit Operating System: Go to Start > Run and enter in: regsvr32.exe c:\windows\syswow64\msvbvm60.dll /u

    •            For a 32-bit Operating System: Go to Start > Run and enter in: regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\msvbvm60.dll /u

    4.           Log back into Dynamics GP and import your package file of all the customizations you created in step #1.

Once I ran through these steps, the error was gone!!!
