I need to upload the opening balance data of Fixed assets for which I need to update the FA depreciation book. I tried using configuration package but when I import the excel sheet there is no data imported. The no. of records shows zero.

RE: Add Data in FA Depreciation book

FA Depreciation Book is used to define your Depreciation Starting, Depreciation ending, and Remaining Life.

There might be an issue with your upload file. Try exporting the template and paste the data the exported file and import it back to the Configuration package.

For the Begbal, as mentioned by Josh, you can use the Fixed Asset Journal but make sure your G/L Integration is deactivated. We usually load the Acquisition costs FA Posting Type 'Acquisition Cost' and the accumulated depreciation with FA Posting Type 'Depreciation'.

AFter positng, enable again the G/L integration for the succeeding FA transactions.

It not possible to migrate that data directly. Ensure the depreciation book isn’t linked to the gl and migrate the data into a fixed asset journal. Post the journal and then the data will be in the desired table. Go back to the depreciation book and enable the link to the gl again.
