Hello Community,

I am encountering the error: “The Bin does not exist. Identification fields and values: Location Code='*****', Code=''" while creating a warehouse pick for a production order.

I have reviewed all possible warehouse setup configurations, but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

Kindly suggest a solution.

This error usually points to a missing or misconfigured Bin setup in the Location you’re working with. A few things to check:

Check Default Bin Setup

Go to Location Card for the location in question.

Ensure a Default Bin is defined for Production Output and To-Production.

If these aren’t set, the system won’t know where to pick from or post output.

Verify Bin Contents

Open Bin Content for that Location and confirm that bins exist and are linked to the items you’re trying to pick.

If no Bin Code is assigned, BC will throw the error you’re seeing (notice in your message Code='').

Check Location Setup

If the Location is Directed Put-away and Pick, make sure you’ve created the necessary bins (e.g., RECEIVE, SHIP, PROD).

If it’s not directed, you still need at least one valid Bin defined and assigned to the items.

Root Cause Analysis

Bin Mandatory

Check the Location Card for the Bin Mandatory setting. If enabled, every transaction for that location must specify a valid bin.

Directed Put-away and Pick

If this is enabled, BC expects bins to be fully defined and used in warehouse documents. Consider disabling it temporarily for testing.

Default Bin Setup

Ensure that the Item or Location has a default bin assigned, especially if you're using automatic creation of warehouse picks.

Blank Bin Code

If the bin code is blank in the warehouse pick or production order line, BC will throw this error. You may need to manually assign a bin or adjust the logic that populates it.

Suggested Fixes

Go to Location Card → confirm if Bin Mandatory is enabled. If yes, make sure bins are defined and assigned.

Navigate to Bin Contents and verify that the bin exists for the item and location.

If using Warehouse Class Codes, ensure the bin matches the item’s class.

Try creating a dummy bin with a generic code (e.g., “DEFAULT”) and assign it as the default for the location or item.

Hello,

The error could be for several reasons, I would recommend to check the following configuration:

- Validate the Warehouse Configuration with the mandatory location.
- Check the Warehouse and validate the location of the error.
- Verify the location and bin code in the production order.

I would also add to check the warehouse employee configuration.

Somewhere within your entire process, system is attempting to hit the bin which doesn't exist altogether. Did you try enabling debugger?
