Hi All.

While creating a user or if you check existing user in D 365 for Finance and Operations, the field type has 4 values active directory  user, active directory  groups, claim users & claim group. What is the purpose of all the 4 types while creating a user. Does someone have examples of the same??

Regards,

Ron

    AD and AAD

Active Directory - is the old well-known Active Directory (not equal to Azure Active Directory)

Claim - is Azure Active Directory

    Users and Groups

Users - is just users. Add or Import them.

Groups - you may define AD/AAD groups and add this group to D365FO, then all users inside this group will be added to D365FO automatically. You should enable this functionality before use.

Please find more details about Groups here
