Management reporter department wise report for a range of period

ReportReport

Hi everyone,

I am configuring a financial report in D365 F&O wherein I want data of 2 Departments column wise and data has to be of a range of period.

I have 2 questions:

1. In my column definition Under Admin column I have put dimension filter like below:

My question is from where these Departments are coming in Totaling account(where do we specify these departments are totaling and why only 2 departments not all are coming)

How it will be different than if I put department through Individual or range option?

2. How to run a report for a range of dates since D365 only asks for a report date while running. Example- If I want to run the report for 4 months or for 7 months. And in that case, How will be my column definition configured.

    Hi Jasdeep,

The 'dynamic' comes into the report if you refer to a base period / year.

The first screenprint shows this where you can find a reference to the "base" year in the year line.

If you run the report then you select the base period and base year when you run the report and this selection ensures that you see "dynamic" data for the periods selected.

here is another screenprint that illustrates the base year / period fields that you select when generating a report.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

Thanks, This is a static solution. The examples are of year end report but my question is if it is possible to specify the date range dynamically while running the report . Since I see the single report run date from D365 application I can enter only single date.

And what is the significance of DD if format of date entered is (MM/DD/YYYY) since in column definition MM is Period and YYYY is Fiscal year.

    Hi,

Here is an example how such a setup for different periods can be made

Another example that covers multiple periods is illustrated here:

    Hi Ludwig,

Yes ofcourse totalling accounts are put in row definition, I was just curios to know why only 2 departments are visible in totalling accounts. Anyways, I have put department filter using dimension filter in column definition.

What about my second question? How can we run the report for a range of period through D365 F&O, in that case how my column definition will be comfigured?

    Hi,

Why do you need the totaling account in the column definition setup?

I would expect that all accounts including total accounts are setup in the row definition and that the departments are specified as filters in the column definition.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
