Data type supported by Dynamics 365 customer insights

Query- Does dynamics 365 customer insights supports only Structured data or does it supports semistructured data and unstructured data too?

and if it supports all data types then what is the reason that power query in customer insights can get data from limited data sources?

    The short answer is that there's a very strong preference for structured data and while technically it could work with unstructured data, I can't really think of a use case where it would make sense (that's not saying there isn't one).  

    When you say "and if it supports all data types then what is the reason that power query in customer insights can get data from limited data sources" the answer is that if you want a no or low code tool, options are going to be somewhat limited.  You can ingest json or delimitted text and shape it, but in order to have a map back to a customer or activity, you are going to ultimately have some constraints.

    If you don't mind sharing, what scenario would you be looking at that would necessitate unstructured  data?
