Help with a Basic RTM Customer Journey

Hi all,

I am quite new to Dynamics Marketing Module but find it very interesting.

have a simple question, I want to create a simple Customer Journey in RTM which just invites a segment to an event, sends a reminder email if they dont sign up given a certain time, sends conformation email when signed up and reminder email just before the event.

Can anyone help me with this or point me towards the right direction where I can find some good material to guide me?

Also, quick question. Is it not possible to have multiple horizontal swim lanes in RTM?

Best,

Stian

    Hi Stian,

Please refer to the following Microsoft documentation, which  will guide you boost event engagement with real-time journeys:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-event-registration-journey

Also, you can refer to the following link:

    https://meganvwalker.com/event-registrations-real-time-marketing-journeys/

Finally, RTM does not support multiple swim lanes.

    Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer. In the example provided I can see that they are using the trigger when the event registration is created (step 1) and not when the invitation email is sent out (step 0).

Why is it recommended this way? Which part of Marketing should we use for step 0? Do we create a RTM email using segment to send out the invitation email in step 0 or OBM email?

Thanks again and sorry for the stupid questions.

You certainly can use RTM segment-based journey for step 0 to send out the invite and in that same journey you can use a trigger step which will run when someone registers the event and rest is as you have seen in the example. So 1 single journey can handale everything.

Ok, thanks again for quick response.

I have a follow up question, I would like to have a dynamic reference in the step 0 email which references the name of the event in the Customer Journey. How can I do that?
