Difference in sorting using advanced filter query between On-hand stock and On-hand

I want to add to a query a sort order, in Stock management > common > on-hand stock, when I Ctrl F3 I can go to the Sorting tab and add in further sorting criteria, just like adding more fields in the range tab. However in Stock management > inquiries > on-hand, I can only add extra fields to the range tab not the sort tab. I want to be able to create filters and cues on this data to access quickly and wanted to use the on-hand option as it opens in a new window and can remain open when doing other things.

Any advice?

You can't add sorting if the query already uses grouping (on-hand stocked is grouped by dimensions).

    Hi Martin,

I thought that but you can also group by dimension in the On-hand stock screen from the common menu and the advanced filter allows multiple sort criteria in that screen

Here is the sorting screen from that option

here the add and remove are active - and this filter works fine in this screen

this is the sorting screen from the on-hand option

its strange its not consistent - any ideas??

    thanks

I actually created an extremely simple form with group by to prove the point - I suggest you to do the same to see it.

I don't remember the implementation of "On-hand stock" form, but it may use a temporary table, for example. I'll take a look tomorrow, if needed.

In my version of AX, I'm unable to add sorting to Inventory and warehouse management  > Common > On-hand inventory either.

    Hi Martin,

thanks for the help - my version does allow sorting so I am going to do a bit more investigation into speed etc and if all checks out will point the users into that option if they need the sorting function.
