I'm exploring the lead scoring functionality and have hit a couple of issues i'm hoping you can clarify.
1. I've been reading through the docs and do I have it right that in order to implement a lead scoring model there also needs to be a contact/account associated with the lead? Surely that totally defeats the purpose of having a lead in the first place? Why create a lead generating form if you're required to create both leads and contacts immediately? I mean we're not looking to do a contact scoring model.
2. I've set up a lead scoring model in our instance and have targeted various email interactions as the conditions which lead to scoring actions being added to the lead. However when i create a segment for the hot and cold leads the numbers don't add up. There are only 30 users who've received the email linked to the lead scoring model yet the segment of hot leads already has over 400 members, and the cold segment has over 4000 members. How can this be?! It seems the lead scoring model isn't targeting the leads i want it to and instead is applying the model to thousands of leads in the system.
Even though when creating the lead scoring model and creating the condition expression i specify which messages i'm attributing points to it still seems to default to all leads in the system rather than the messages i select. Is there somewhere else I need to limit who the model is targeted to?
Thanks
