hi,
i'm trying to change the location of an item through item details but i can't do that , I'm using ax 2009
any one can help

You mean where it is in stock? Use a transfer journal or transfer order. If it is the default you alter the warehouse item setting.
for example you have X item is location A and you want it to move it to location X
why i have to use transfer journal, i just want to change the location and keep the quantity as it
Because it is a business process of relocating stock and you need to reflect this in the system - you move it through the system using, as an example, a transfer journal to move it from A to X.
