LCS: Applying latest application and Platform Update to a build environment

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any special preparations to do when applying the latest Application & Platform update to a BUILD environment in the cloud (LCS)?

Last month, I updated to 10.0.5 with PU29 and after that update my build machine refused to create new builds.

I got the error "ms.build.exe exited with code -1". Reinstalling the build machine on LCS resolved the issue.

I can't find any additional info the procedure, except on this page for older versions:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/deployment/apply-deployable-package-system

Kind regards

Mathieu

Should not be anything special, I never had such issue. Which step of the build gave you this error? Wad there any other error message / details?

Anyway you can always redeploy the system with a couple of button clicks, which you did already.

    Okay then,

I guess I'll do the update once again to PU30 today and see what happens then.

The error was at the building step. It simply stated : Process 'msbuild.exe' exited with code '1'.

I'll launch the update and let you guys know.

    Hi,

In LCS, check which step you got the error when you do update. Also, download the log file and find the particular step# and check the same.

FYI, I got synchronization issue when doing update from PU29 to PU30 and then I did abort the update process & resolved the synch issue. And then again applied the latest update and its completed successfully.

    Thanks,

There are no extra steps, just LCS update is fine. Actually, you should not even RDP to it and open Visual Studio there.

I did the update yesterday and everything went fine.

Not sure what went wrong the previous time.

Thank you for the answers !
