Hi all
Is there anyway to automate the export of data entity records into CSV? Currently doing manual process by exporting the data through data management framework in to CSV. Is there anyway to automate the process
Thanks
Hi Sindhu,
You can run a DMF export job in batch with a recurrence.
Please check https://dynfotech.com/2021/08/22/data-management-data-export-and-import-process-part-1/ for more info regarding export options-.
Hi Alireza
Thank for the reply. For my current scenario, i need to export employee data entity eliminating few fields and export to be happened only for the newly added record through batch or something. Is that possible?
You can create data export project for entity "Employee", then you can click on view map and update the fields that you need to be exported:
and then you can export the DMF job via batch job (i.e. Export in batch)
Thanks. Where does the CSV file be saved? I am unabel to find it. Also can it be automatically saved in the server(either production or uat) rather my desktop
Hi again Sindhu,
The exported file will be stored on data management > Job history and "Execution detail" for each exported job.
Then you can export the file or package file to your local PC:
The file will be saved on Azure blob-.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. But i wanted to automate the process. In the sense, user should not even click on download file. Is there any way to redirect the file to the production server or any specific server? rather than manual downloading
I think you need to go for out.of-the-box.
Hi Alireza.. would you be able to explain me more detail?
Hi Sidhu,
Please check following threads you find your answer there, I am sure:
Create a recurring data export app
Database Log Scheduled Export to a Specified Location
Both recommend to use LogicApp. Yes, I know the first link is showing functionality for D365 Talent, but similar can be setup for D365F
There are several routines that can be used here. One of them is to use Logiq apps where you can send data to OneDrive for Business folder (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/human-resources/hr-admin-integration-recurring-data-export). Another alternative can be to create this export via Electronic reporting where data will be stored on Sharepoint that users have access.
