Retention Amount not posting in Retention Accounts in Project Invoice

Dear All,

while posting Project invoice by creating Milestone and creating project invoice, retention amount is not getting posted to retention accounts rather it will get posted to customer account without retention. The print out of project invoice showing retention amounts and balance amount. Also, when posted project invoice by creating Billing Rule amount get posted to retention accounts without any issues .

Hi Safeer PS,

Thank you for sharing this information.

Can you please check the following:

- That an automatic transaction account has been setup for your retentions in GL

- That the customer retention terms are setup and linked to your Project

- In case you make use of billing rules, please check the setup of those rules to ensure that the retention setup is not missing

- That a specific customer retention category is setup and has the billing code 'billable' assigned

- That you have manually updated the percentag of work complete in the payment retention section of your project => please also check your invoice proposal line details to see whether this % is automatically copied

If all your setup is complete, then please check LCS for an available hotfix

There have been a couple of hotfixes released for payment retentions and it might be the case that you experience a system bug.

But If I am creating Billing rule and start invoicing amounts are coming correctly and retention amounts going to retention accounts ..

Only if I create a milestone by on Account transaction and start to invoice with retention retention amounts are not going to retention accounts.

Hi Safeer PS,

Are you running on an older AX version?

What you describe sounds a bit odd and 'smells' like a bug.

I just had a look at LCS and found a couple of hotfixes related to retentions.

Please see:

Can you check whether some of those fixes help you getting this resolved?
