    Hi,

    thanks for the additional information.

If your SQL Server processors are fully utilized and the system is freezing, it means that you should add more CPU capacity on the SQL Server.

I recommend looking into the PAL tool that is included with DynamicsPerf. It helps you collect data using Windows Performance Monitor, and produce reports out of them. Then you will see if disk or CPU are overwhelmed. But in your case you already saw that the CPU is overwhelmed so that's the first thing to look into.

Also make sure that there are no other processes on the database server that could consume CPU, and also make sure that there are no other databases than AX database on the prod SQL Server.

When the CPU utilization hits 100%, look at Task manager and check which processes are eating the capacity.

    Dear Nikolaos and friends,

We have problem slow Performance AX 2012 R2 about 6 months. It's very slow and always on state "Not responding" or "Not Processing" when Start up AX Client, Open form, Loading form, Loading report X++,.... Users complain so much.

Presently, The hardware system we have:

    screenshot.19.jpg

    And about the Tracsaction Volume:
    - Sales order lines: ~ 17.000 records / months
    - Purchase order lines: ~500 records / months
    - Product receipt lines: ~500 records / months
    - Packing slip lines: ~ 6.000 records / months
    - Sales invoice lines: ~ 6.000 records / months
    - Inventory journal lines: ~ 110.000 records / months
    - Transfer order lines: ~ 8.000 records / months
    - Production orders: ~200 records / months

I was try something ways. But not work.

Note: Everytime i see Acivity Monitor / Processor Time in SQL Database full max % , then AX Not responding.

    Please help.
    Regards.

But I want to emphasize that it's more important to focus on the other areas that I mentioned. First of all finding out if you have performance issues in your system (so far you didn't provide any information about it - perhaps the system is already sufficient and running good?). And then collecting analysis data with the tools that I mentioned to find bottlenecks.

It depends on what functionalities you are using but some information that you could try to fetch (total per month and peak per hour):

    - Sales order lines

    - Purchase order lines

    - Product receipt lines

    - Packing slip lines

    - Sales invoice lines

    - Inventory journal lines

    - Transfer order lines

    - Production orders

The number of users is not very relevant, transaction volumes are more important.

You might have 150 users who only post one timesheet journal per week.

Or you might have 150 users who post 100 big inventory journals per day.

The sizing requirements for these would be very different.

There's no official sizing document where you could find a definite suggestion for all scenarios.

Do you have some performance issues with your current setup? You should start by analyzing those to understand the current bottlenecks. Then focus your efforts on those areas.  You can use tools such as DynamicsPerf and PAL (Performance Analysis of Logs) to gather detailed information about your current situation.

ALso, here's a benchmark document from Microsoft which might contain useful information: docs.microsoft.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-day-in-the-life-benchmark

If you can provide the transaction volumes perhaps we can also suggest some sizing for you.
