Hi

is it advisable to keep the tax Jurisdiction table as defaulted, or is it ok to remove the ones that we are not going to use and add different names

is it something that is meant get updated automatically by MS when tax rates change; "similar to payroll tax updates in GP,  and that is why we need to keep it as is? if no, are there any implication of removing them or changing the ID ?

Thanks

    Hi Ola,

Generally speaking, there is no tax rate update service provided by Microsoft. So you can cross that off your list of concerns when removing a Tax Jurisdiction code.

So what else do you need to worry about? If you look at a Customer Card or Vendor Card, you will find a field called Tax Area code. Each Tax Area code contains a list of one of more Tax Jurisdiction codes. You can view this from the Tax Areas page.

Also, the Tax Details page references Tax Jurisdiction codes in combination with Tax Group codes.

So before you delete any Tax Jurisdiction code, make sure that it is not referenced in any Tax Area code, and is not referenced in any Tax Details records. Once you have corrected/updated/removed these references, you can then safely delete these unused Tax Jurisdiction code(s).

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"
