Store and register prompts when performing return transactions on AX Retail POS

Hi all,

We are setting up AX 2012 and AX for Retail POS at a customer. When we create a return transaction we get prompts for both store and register (steps 4 and 5 below), we don't want to get these prompts. The steps I did are the following:

1. Click Show journal on the POS.

2. Select the transaction to return.

3. Click Return transaction.

4. A prompt appears asking for the store ID. Fill this out.

5. A prompt appears asking for the register ID. Fill this out.

6. A list of the items from the transaction appears, select the items to return. 

I tried this in Contoso and I don't get the prompts there. I can't find any parameters or setup for this, do you know if this is configured somewhere in AX?

    Hi Ragnhildur,

    Please, validate if your store/AX database have multiple transactions with the same Receipt IDs.
    In this case POS tries to find transaction to return using Receipt ID you selects (on 'Show journal' form), but if multiple transactions were found, POS cannot understand which of them should be returned => it asks you to enter store + terminal to limit the search.

    I second Oksana's reply on this issue. The receipt numbers should be unique to a store and terminal. The standard we follow is SSSSTT#######. This will generate a receipt number where in SSSS will be last 4 characters of the store number TT will be last 2 digits of the terminal number and ###### will be the variable.
