In the doc:
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 System Requirements - Microsoft Corporation Published: October 2015
it is stated that AX 2012 requires Microsoft SQL Server 2014, Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Business Intelligence Edition.
I would like to double check if the Developer Edition would satisfy installation requirements for a Test and Development environment.

There shouldn't be any problem. Developer edition is Enterprise with a different license.

I had the same doubt some time agora and for curiosity i have openned a support request with the same question, the Answer was the following:
If it is listed in the system requierement documentation it is support.
I know that AX can work with de Developer Edition but it is not listed int the System Requirement...
I would like to know if someone here had the same doubt/issue/problem!!!
