How to update SharePoint folder path if I change the name of an account/contact ?

Dear Community,

As asked on my title. Currently, our Dynamics and SharePoint are linked without any problems. However, is there any way that I can change the account/contact names and the Dynamics should still be able to link to the correct folder on SharePoint? I guess the name of the linked folder on SP should be changed accordingly as well.

Thanks

Changing the record name won't break the relationship as the underlying SharePoint Document Location record links the Dynamics record with a SharePoint URL and that won't change when the record is updated.

If you did want to keep them in sync, then you could use Power Automate to update the SharePoint folder name and update the SharePoint Document Location record to match that.

Is Power Automate the only solution? Do you have instruction for it?

    Hello,

It is possible to implement your requirement using power automate. Follow below article and make sure to change the trigger point which will be on change of the account/contact Name in your case.

    Other things will remain same.

    Hi,

There is an Entity called Document Location in CRM System.

there we can see Relative URL, Based on that we can map the Same form CRM to SharePoint using Power Automate
