Error when exporting SSRS report to Excel

Hello!

We are getting this error when trying to export the Project WIP report to Excel.

Sometimes the report will render and sometimes it don't. Export to Excel never works. We are usually running this report on with a daterange going from 2013-2016, but we tried to reduce that to 1 day e.g. 29.09.2016-30.09.2016, but it made no difference...

Any help appriciated, thanks!

    Can you can successfully print the report, such as on screen? If "Sometimes the report will render and sometimes it don't" means that you can't even print the report on screen, your problem clearly isn't just about exporting to Excel.

    Are you exporting to Excel from Report Viewer, or do you use Excel as the print destination?

    Hi Martin!

    Sometimes it will successfully print to screen and when I then try to export it to Excel I will get the error. I tried to use Excel as the print destination as well, but then AX just hangs for 30 minutes and no Excel file is beeing generated. I'm running the report from AX and using the export function from the report viewer.

    "Sometimes it will successfully print" clearly means that sometimes it fails, even when no export to Excel is involved. Do you get the same error in such cases, or something else?

    No error, the client just locks up and I have to kill the process after waiting for 30 minutes ish.

    If I was you, I would look at performance of the report, because it seems to be the main problem.
