Hi Mark,
Yes It's Possible, you have 2 ways
Option 1 : Go to order header under Setup > Inventory > Reservation and set it to autoamic then accept it to update the lines.
Option 2 : Go to the warehouse management and activate "Reserve inventory at load posting" as mentioned it will reserve inventory at warehouse posting when you try to validate a load under the load planning workbench or you try to release it either in the same form or from the order form.
