    Hi  Ially.

I see you are asking quite a few questions regarding workflow. Can I suggest that you create an AX environment where you can play and experiment. Test all the scenarios for yourself and see what they do, this way you will be more confident of their behavior when you implement them in a live environment. I would suggest that most of the experts on the forums have gained their knowledge and experience from doing just that.

    Thanks Jonathan for the reply.

To be honest i following in the same manner .. if you have noticed that out of 8 workflow elements .. so far i had asked about two elements manual and parellel .

You can understand that if i did not understand the basic concept and flow it is difficult to play with that .. i have some idea to configure or process , examples , then i would play with these elements also.

I hope that you understood the concerns and expecting help from pioneers like you.

If you all write some sample blogs .. it would easy to us to start playing with that.

    Thanks in advance.

Simple explanation (without pictures) is this:

Parallel means that you have 2 paths, the process will not continue until both paths complete however, it doesn't matter what order the get completed in.

Scenario: PO - The purchase order is for a real estate land purchase. In order to complete the purchase I need to collect the title search, complete the mortgage application, background checks, etc........all of these tasks are required to be completed before I can move the PO to the next workflow step......I want to kickoff all of these tasks at once - in parallel......

    I agree with Brian,

As another feature, you can use parallel activity instead of conditional decisions if you have many of them.

If you have a scenariothat you should act differently lets say regarding to itrm category.

If you have 4 possible categories you should use 4 conditional decisions so you can check if it is category 1 or not, if not then if it is category 2 or not and so on. This will also end up with having a slower workflow. Instead of that you can have a parallel activity where you can check all at once in parallel, and connect to "end" element in all parallel activities' conditional decisions. And in true option you can take the action.
