Setting production resources machine, mold and tools

Dear AX Experts,

Does anyone can explain how to configure production resources in AX 2012 to meet our requirement below, in plastic industries; we are using molds, machines and tools as resources in production.

I.e. Product “A”, has two mold, so we can produce product “A” using mold Mold-A1 or Mold-A2

“Mould-A1” only runs on machines below

ARB2202

KM300

ARB-9

KM3002

KM3003

“Mould-A2” only runs on machines below

ARB-8

ARB-9

ARB-10

ARB-11

ARB-12

ARB100

ARB1005

ARB1004

In the example above each mold have specific machines to run on, both mold can run on “ARB-9” but most of them have different machine.

Each machines has their own tools, and some tools is interchangeable with other machines same type of the machines

I.e. ARB-9 has tools “ARB-Tool1” & “ARB-Tool2” these tools can be use as tools in other “ARB machines”

Question:

- It is possible to user AX 2012 to handle above case?

- How to configure it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello - I also have a similar situation but constrained to scheduling of tooling resources. If anyone could help, it's really appreciated - I'm stuck :)

You do not have to go to this level of details... you can assign only machines as a recourses.. other molds and tools consumption cost should included in the machines cost category linked to machine resource..

There is an asset management tool that you can check out.

Not sure if it fits your requirements because you did not provide any other information.

Basically i am required to have

> capacity planning which taking tools availability

> Tools usage or use frequency

> The tool been used on which production order number
