Top manager in hierarchy unable to see themselves in the leave and absence calendar

Posted on by 95

Greetings to all..

I have updated the D365HR settings and our team now have view of their absence and leave including view of the absence and leave calendar.... However I am facing an issue with our boss = highest post in the hierarchy...

  • The person highest in the organisation hierarchy is unable to see their own name in the calendar
  • No one with an Admin level is able to see him/her as well in the absence and leave calendar...

Are there any limitations to someone who is placed at the top of an ogranisations hierarchy?

Thank you

    Hello Farouk,

What is you are describing is currently how the product is behaving by design. There is an idea logged for this Microsoft Idea · Enable manager to view their leave calendar alongside that of their direct reports on Manager Absence Calendar (dynamics.com)

I highly encourage you to vote on the idea if there's something that you believe that would improve the functionality.

He is able to see that in this table, however his comment is that he wants to see himself in the Calendar along the team...

The other point would be that not even (highest role) administrators can see him in the organisation calendar as well...

    Would that be standard?

If he wants to see Leave and Absence for himself then he can go My career information > Time off Balance > View Time off

Thanks Parag for the reply... I will try and get more screenshots as the system is now used internally and I am not the one with access (sensitive company info)..

However, the scenario is as follows....

    1. The Top manager (MD) has been placed on the top of the hierarchy under the organisation (legal entity), thus any structure under him, should be visible in the leave and absence...

    hierarchy.png

His position has been set and activated: Position activation 01.01.1993 and As he has no position above him, the name of the superior/manager is blank but active from the same date as well

    activation.png

His direct team in the hierarchy is set and the rest of us belong to the hierarchy + all are assigned the same leave and absence programme...

    leave-and-absence.png

The issue when clicking on the absence and leave calendar, the MD can see the team and organisation but not himself.

I am aware, that there were some threads reagarding the approval of leave and absence for top managers. Has anyone faced the same issue or what is the standard/best practice in setting D365HR leave and absence for the Managing Director or CEO level?

    Thank you

    Hi Farouk,

Can you please add some screenshots?

    Please add below information

    1. Worker information

    2. Position assigned

    3. Leave plan assigned to the employee

    4. Whether the employee has a person assigned in the user form

If the employee has a position assigned, people reporting to him, and position hierarchy setup then It should be visible.
