CRM E-mail Router - Basic Authentication Retirement - Will it stop working?

Microsoft have sent out a notification to office 365 customers that they are going to retire Basic Authentication which as far as I am aware the Dynamics CRM E-mail router uses

Does anyone know what the plan is to replace this, must we use Server-side-sync instead which is not perfect with CRM On-premise and Exchange Online, in fact it is a right pain to get working now and the Microsoft documentation does not cover scenarios when all your accounts use MFA

    Hi.  Did you ever get an answer or more information about this?  We have the same setup and are concerned it will stop working.  We forced "block legacy authentication" as a test, and emails are no longer coming into CRM.
