Hi

I am creating new security role and want to remove the option for someone to reverse a GL Journal.

I created a new duty and duplicated Maintain Journal and transaction and remove the privilege Reverse a Ledger trasactions, but i still see in the reserving columns in the grid view and the button Reverse Entire journal within the Journal Record.

We don't want to create views or personalisation on this and would like it to be control view security.

Is there anything i can do?

    Hi Hetal,

For point 1. Yes, you can duplicate the privilege and add the objects to the Tables node to restrict access to certain fields.

For removing access to 'Reverse entire journal', you just need to ensure the the role will not contain the privilege. You can have a role without  the duty and/or privilege.

    Thanks All.

    1. It would be best for me to duplicate the out of the box privilege and add the reference under the display menu:

as you can see the privilege itself doesn't have any tables, only display menu, action menu and output menu.

    2. Same goes for this do i add in controls here to remove the display field?

    Thanks

    Hi Hetal Gore,

As mentioned by Andre, you can use security roles configurations to achieve this.

    1. For remove fields on grid, deny permission on table (LedgerJournalTable, LedgerJournalTrans) for reversing entry and reversing date.

    2. To remove display field, deny permission on display menu item  LedgerJournalTransTransactionReversalDialog.

    Hi Hetal,

Hiding the fields from the grid can be achieved with Table and Field permissions on a privilege or the security role.

The Reverse entire journal is part of the privilege LedgerJournalTransactionReversal. This privilege is part of the duty LedgerTransactionReversal.

The elements you have circled are two separate functions.  The reversing function in the first screenshot relates to automatically reversing a journal on a future date, which is typically used to post accruals at month end that get reversed in the next month.

The Reverse entire journal in the second screenshot is a function that allows users to reverse a journal posted in error.

Which of these functions do you want to limit access to?
