Average Cost in NAV 2009

We have average cost method, and since few weeks we face a very strange behavior in one of our subsidiaries. System marks very old entries in the table 5804 "Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point" as not adjusted. But we are sure, that there could be no postings in that periods, as they are closed for the users since long time. And it concerns hundreds of items. As a result, Cost Adjustment for all items takes extremely long, and for some items even goes in cycle.

My questions are:

1. What can cause setting this hook to "No", if there were no psotings, no charge allocations etc. in that period?

2. What can we do with it now? If I just set this hook to yes in all entries earlier than January 2017, for example - we have theoretical risk to get wrong cost. And if we leave it as it is - nobody can work, as many tables are blocked.

    Hello Maneesha and Manish!

There were no manual corrections in the database. What I finally made - I marked yesterday all the entries older than 01.01.2017 as adjusted = Yes, then Cost Adjustment run succesfully in a few hours. Now I will monitor if suchentries appear again, maybe then have more information.

    Thank you for your answers!

    Dear anton.dyundik ,

Ok we have some several solutions for you according to this conversation

Now you item cost adjustment will be more risk if you are going to readjust it(without your partners)

the basic solutions are made as by follows but im not sure whether it is very suitable for you or not

    1. Create New Item with same name block existing and use New Item

    2. Create new Item mark as subsidiary as  your existing item and use subsidiary product

    Other path are  Critical paths

    1. With the help of your partner access the DB level tables and delete entries (on your existing changes has been done to DB level might be miss to modify cascaded tables that's why you got stuck)

2 . Delete All ledger entries according to the item - related to the cost adjustment

But to this function first i need to tell you This is really really not recommend : if you only in can't help situation use it , Please get help form you partner to do this don't do it alone

Can you go into the Item Ledger for one example and post the results. Or examine the Item Ledger and confirm no transactions have taken place.

Hello Alexander! Answer is "no" for both questions.

Of course, there are some charges, but they all are allocated on transactions of February 2017 latest,

Could anyone make any manual changes directly in the database? Also, have you posted any item charges to those items recently?
