Dynamics AX 2012 Integration Tools

Hello,

We have Dynamics AX Installed on a Server 2012 RDS farm and are using Dynamics AX as a published Application.

No we would would like have the Dynamics AX Published App, to interact with a locally installed Excel instance on a laptop.

I have found this article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/install-remote-desktop-services-integration

Quote:

The Remote Desktop Services integration components for Microsoft Dynamics AX support integration with local applications, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, when Microsoft Dynamics AX is hosted on a Remote Desktop server. Install the Remote Desktop Services integration components on local client computers. The Remote Desktop Services integration components are selected automatically when you install the Office Add-ins for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

I have installed the integration tools, but still when we do an export to excel from the published app, Excel starts on the RDS farm and not on the local laptop.

What am I missing here?

Please help.

    Hi MarcelRond,

You're setup appears correct.  Perhaps this could help - community.dynamics.com/.../export-to-excel-opening-on-rds

    AxScreen.pngHello,

We found the setting and set it correctly, but still Excel opens on the RDS server.

Do we need to remove Excel from the RDS server by any chance?

Here's a screenshot of the setting we have set.

    Thanks

    Hi MarcelRond,

It is on the User options form. You can open this form using the File button. Then choose Tools > Options. You can also as system administrator open it per user from the Users list page.

    Hello André,

Thanks for your response. I'd like to check it, but where can I find this setting?

Sorry for lack of experience with AX

    Hi MarcelRond,

Have you checked the User options form. There is a setting per user which manages if a local Excel is used or one on the server. (General > Miscellaneous)
