Hi.
We are soon upgrading to D365 FO.
We have never performed inventory closing in our existing system AX 2009. We would like to post mass adjustments and close the inventory.
Please could you point a finger at how it is done in AX 2009 so that we can transfer the final balances in the new system. Much appreciated.
Hello Vijay V.M.,
If you never closed the inventory in AX2009 why would you like doing that 'at the end' before you upgrade to D365FO?
Personally, I would do a stock counting to get the right quantities.
For the valuation, you will most probably have to review cost prices anyway.
When doing that you could talk with your auditors and financial managers whether a new and probably lower valuation might be justified.
In a nutshell, rather than trying to bring over some kind possibly outdated prices and values, I would recommend reviewing the cost prices before bringing quantities, prices and values over to D365FO.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Vijay,
I do agree with Ludwig. In addition, if you want to perform the closing anyway, first test it in a trial environment and check the execution time and results. The execution time might take too long if you never closed the inventory. The calculation part can be speed up by using more helpers.
