erroneous Vendor ID

Dear GP community,

we  created Vendor ID as 31094. The first number identifies category: admin

The correct category should be 2xxxx: vendor

We would like to create proper coding Vendor ID: 21094.

There were one invoice and one payment related to this vendor.

Is it possible to change Vendor ID in GP?

What should be the action?

    Hi Larisa

    Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > tools > utilities > purchasing > Vendor combiner and Modifier

    This will allow you to change the vendor id

    I would recommend that you try this out in a test company first to ensure that everything works like you want it to.

    Hi Larisa,

    There shouldn't be.. this feature has be moved from the Professional Service Tools Library into GP by Microsoft with GP2013.. it is safe to use, but to be safer, backup your company DB and test it out before in a test company as Jeffrey suggested.

    Hi Larisa

    No I haven't heard of any negative impacts.  The only problem I have heard about is people trying to use the functionality without really trying it out first and then they make a mess of it.

    That is why I highly recommend trying this in a test company first so that you understand how the tool works.

    Good Luck and by the way there is a similar tool available for customers.
