Hi:

We have an AX 2012 installation and we are receiving this error when trying to "Refresh" the WCF Configuration through the AX Config Util:

Title = Regenerate WCF Configuration

"An error occured while regenerating WCF configurations: Unable to connect to a Microsoft Dynamics AX WCF Service. Ensure that the Microsoft Dynamics AX AOS has fully started and that the requested WCF service in available. See the Exception message below for details: > Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: http://axappserver:8102/DynamicsAX/Services/AifGDS"

Please help me undertand what could be causing this and what we can try to resolve it.

Go to Dynamics AX Configuration utility and refresh the service configuration

Hi,

I too got below error when I tried to configure services in Microsoft Dynamics Ax Configuration Utility.

"An error occurred while regenerating WCF configuration:

Exception occurred on the metadata service on client or server.

See exception details below:

>A call to SSPI failed,see inner exception.

Can any one help to resolve from this issue???

hi,

I also get this error. And while installing the AIF Webservice , i got this error as warning. And not installing .svc file in the Webservice directory.

And the connection tab is disabled in the configuration utility page

Try to delete the APPDATA folder present in ur local machine.

Then check following things.

1. Check whether ur server name,Instance name, TCP/IP Port is correct or not as per ur config file in Microsoft Dynamics Ax Configuration utility.

2. Then check whether ur AOS service is started.

what is it exactly you attempting to do? can you validate your website? (although this only validates the shared folder) what type of inbound port (i assume) are you trying to configure, basic or enhanced? are any of your basic inbound ports activated and running? (ax client uses these net.tcp calls via inbound basic ports)...so if your client is running smooth, you shouldnt need to 'refresh'....if your client is not working, re-install ax and just choose client...

Typically after implementations i never have occasion to 'refresh' wcf config using ax util....configuring the website and ports is always the bear.....

sorry, didnt see the other posts....the sspi error is related to dns active directory not liking your authentication or at least not being able to discover it properly...usually putting the IP address in there instead of the machine name will fix that....where the net.tcp call is in the web.config file for the web service (if your hosting on IIS as opposed to AOS)....of course AOS could have that problem as well, try using IP address in your website (from client) then go to the inbound port and deactivate, select new web address, then activate again......if you cant even install web services, or your AOS wont start at all and gives this error, then you need to use IP address in your ax config utility to connect to your AOS server.....basically IP address (as long as AOS service is started) in the web service web.config file OR IP address in the AX utility to get conected to AOS...

all other components are running very well. i have already created a legal entity and connected all clients to the AOS and working well. now i am on the final step of installing reporting service extension and its failing with error below. so after researching i was advice to confirm if i could refresh my configuration file but i found i could not.:

I really think this is related to your server name...try changing the server name to IP address instead of machine name in ax config utility as shown by the other posts.....I have gotten SSPI before and that usually solves it....
