Sales Category hierarchy type & Product Attributes

Hello,

In AX 2012 R3, the Product Categories link Products with Product attributes.

However, it looks like AX allows only the Products that have either the Procurement Category hierarchy type or Retail Product Hierarchy types to have attributes associated with them.

Is there any way we can have Products associated with the "Sales Category hierarchy type" to display Attributes in the Item master?

Sales Category hierarchy type & Product Attributes

Is there any progress happened as I didn't see any further post? I am facing the same issue.
I have created a Category hierarchy which is linked to Category hierarchy type = Sales Category hierarchy.

I have added products and attributes in the same Category hierarchy form (as I didn't find Sales categories form like Procurement & Sourcing > Consignment > Procurement categories).

But the attributes are not flowing to the product.

Attributes for items is the key for new pricing management module which is still in preview.

Much appreciate for any advise in this regard.

Out of the box, possibly not. With customization it might be possible, but last time I checked (1-2 years back) it was tied to an enum/tickbox and worked for Procurement category hierarchy only.
