I do know the concept of the shared party within the global address book. However, our customer would like to /deactivate/ the logic because they don't want to have their customers/vendors shared via the party ID.
In fact, they would like to have one party for each vendor/customer. It doesn't matter if the same vendor/customer already exists in another legal entity because settings (e.g. language or contacts) shouldn't be shared.
I have found the parameter /use duplicate check/ in the system, this already helps because the popup window /use match/ disappears if a matching record is found.
However, it is still possible for the user to select an existing party ID and therefore share the account. Is there any other parameter to fully deactivate this concept?

There is no parameter to turn off the Global Address Book and the capability to link Parties to multiple vendors/customers etc.
Perhaps you can identify all the places where your users have access to merge Parties, add a vendor or customer to a different party or create a customer or vendor from an existing party and use security to remove access to those places.

Hi Markus,
Is the requirement about not sharing per legal entity or should it also be prevented from having a customer and vendor in the same company not sharing the same party?

Hi,
User is able not to select the party Id system offers but there isn't OOB functionality to enable the selection of the same.
