Hi experts,
I'm new to d365.
I have a doubt.
Is it possible to disable an action pane button for a particular user .
That button is not containing any privilege.
Hi Vidhushan,
Depending on the button, there are a couple of approaches;
If it's a menu item, you can create a privilege that directly controls its visibility, and then add that privilege to a role, to later assign that role to the user.
If it's just a form control button, you can also create a privilege and under the Form Control Permissions, add a reference to that button, and then assign to a role and then to a user, like with the menu item.
You can also use SecurityRights class and control visibility through code.
Can you provide more details? Like Danilo mentioned, the button can be a menu item button or another form button control. Out of the box, the menu item buttons are not visible for normal business users unless you add them to a role via privileges and duties.
The form button control can be secured, but then the property NeededPermission needs to have a certain non-default value.
If it is a menu item button and the security role has access to this menu item, you can also create another security role with a privilege where you specify "deny" access. If you assign that role to the user, the deny option will have higher priority and the menu item will not be visible.
Thank you for your response.
Actually this for is a standard one.
Can we create a new privilege for that?
Hi.
This form is a standard one.
Is it possible to create a privilege for this
What do you mean with 'a standard one'? We gave you insights about different type of buttons and that they would require a different security scenario. Can you tell which form and which button?
Hi,
In sales order action pane >manage
Which exact button on this Manage tab? I have checked all buttons on this Manage action tab. They are all menu item buttons or form control buttons with NeededPermission set to Manual, except for one button (Credit card). This means that you can manage all buttons with security settings; except one: "Credit card". If you need to hide this one, you can create an extension and set the NeededPermission to Manual.
