Performance Issues After v26 Upgrade

Hi all,

Since upgrading to v26, I've noticed serious performance problems with slow page loads across all pages, making it hard to pinpoint the cause. Anyone else experiencing this or have suggestions for a fix? Could any dependencies be contributing to this issue?

Edit: We use Business Central Online

Edit2: After some testing, it seems that only the initial page load in Business Central takes an unusual amount of time. Once the page is opened, performance is great. This might be related to caching.. The problem remains. I will disable each Extension in the sandbox and hopefully gather more information.

    I haven't encountered it, and according to Microsoft, performance should be improved.
    The settings related to performance in this update are as follows, you can try turning it on.
    Business Central 2025 wave 1 (BC26): Calculate values only for visible FlowFields

    Hi ZHU, thanks for the feedback. My latest findings show that the copied Production-Env (a sandbox) runs much faster than Production.

    I suspect this is an issue on Microsoft's side. I'll pause for today and hope it rebalances overnight.

    Go to business Central admin center and check if there are any ongoing/failed operations that cause performance issue.

    Hi Sagar,

    thanks for your message. In the end I created a MS Ticket and it proved to be a spike on the app services which caused instability for the instances running on it.

    So I can close this issue.

    Hi!
    We have the same issue in OnPrem 26.0.
    We host BC for a couple of customers that aren't cloud ready yet.
    We upgraded from 25.4 to 26.0. In the process we increased all the application servers that were still at 8GB to 16GB according to the increased system requirements (SQL is separate).
    We cannot figure this one out.
    But the upgraded hosts are affected (best test is to go to "tell me" and then hit "exploring pages"). This takes up a minute on the first call, while displaying "Working on it". At first this happened on every new session. Then we removed the server instance's customconfig.json and created a new one - only reapplying the values we need. This improved the issue: Now it seems to only happen after a server instance restart. 
    So we did this for all our customers, after the upgrade every server instance got a fresh config. 
    But it still happens for our customers and not just once a day, but multiple times daily.
    Are there any more specifics Microsoft can provide? Did you maybe do a platform upgrade in the background?

    We experienced the same. Once we disabled all but one on of the AI features (Bank Rec), it went back to normal speed.
