Upgrade solution optionset values problem

Hi,

I have one global optionset with values A, B, C in crm dynamics 2016 organization A.

I changed the value C to D by crm sdk (so delete and recreate).

I have the same optionset (with values A, B, C) in another crm organization B. I removed the value C in this organization, then I exported a managed solution. When importing this solution in organization A, optionset D is deleted ! Is this correct by design ? It should not be deleted, yes or nor please ?

Thank you.

    Try exporting cloned solution with new OptionSet values from Source Environment and Apply Solution upgrade in the Target Env

    Thank you Srikanth.

    What do you mean please by "cloned" solution ? I have exported a managed solution from the source Env and imported it to target Env.

    What about the result I obtained when I imported the solution, is it what is expected ?

    You have exported Managed Solution from Source?

    Clone Solution means, you have to click clone Solution for your unmanaged solution in source and you have to delete that option from that solution and export this solution into Target. While importing this solution into Target, click on stage for upgrade and Once imported, click Apply solution upgrade. So that this solution will become the main solution, as it holds all the components from the previous solution, this import will delete the entire old solution, and data will not be deleted, because the components still exists in the new cloned solution. So it will delete the old option set and create this new one.

    Hi Mounir,

    when you deal with solutions you need to have a specular schema on both sides, so:

    1) Recreate the missing option where needed

    2) Import solution

    3) Then: re-delete them (discouraged) or hide it runtime (please look at the following code)

    function FormOnLoad() {
        Xrm.Page.getControl('new_field').removeOption(100000004);
    }

    Please let me if you solve

    Managed Solutions can't be exported. Follow the steps that I have mentioned previously

    Hi Christian,

     when you created option D in OrgA, what "value" (integer) was assigned to it? If it's the same value which is assigned to C in OrgB, it did not, really, got removed, it probably just got replaced when you brought that solution from B to A.
