Is anyone aware of the code required to merge 2 items together - I have tried working with

by utilizing the power of the record rename

The issue I am running into is that we are using average costing so when I attempt to do it, I am receiving the following error. Has anyone successfully built an item merge capability?

The record in table Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point already exists. Identification fields and values: Item No.='ITEM1',Variant Code='',Location Code='MAIN',Valuation Date='11/02/20'
