Hi all -
This has us pulling out hair so hopefully we can find some assistance here:
We would like to create a very simple workflow to get new contacts into customer journeys. Our understanding was that this would look something like
- User fills out name, email and phone number via a marketing form (let's call it Form 1), creating a contact in D365 and requesting information from our company.
- Segment is created and defined by, essentially, any contact that completed 'Form 1'.
- Customer journey starts marketing to segment created above, allowing us to send the requested information as step 1 of the CJ and then additional marketing based off of actions (open, not open, clicked link, etc).
After numerous support calls we have been informed the only way to accomplish this is to hack together a workaround using additional hidden form fields and a workflow in Dynamics, which would then get the contact into the segment intended. Additionally, we can't even add look-up fields to the form, such as what product the user might be interested in or defaulting the campaign source and hiding the field. What gives?!
