Min/Max Replenishment based on volume and weight

Hi all,

I have a customer where every pick location in the warehouse may not exceed 20 kilograms. Therefore they could specify a certain maximum quantity for every item, but since there are more than 20,000 items that is going to be a though task.

Is it possible to execute the Min Max replenishment based on, for example, weight? Since there are physical dimensions in WHS, maybe it is possible to let the Min/Max replenishment look at that information?

Hi RobinG94,

Min/Max is based on quantities. Or you have to calculate yourself what max quantity does not exceed 20 kilograms or consider a customization for this. The customization could e.g. fill the max quantity based on the weight. Then you don't have to adjust the master planning jobs.

What happens if you specify maximum weight on the Location profile and at the same time assign the Physical dimension directly on the released products or for a group of products using the Physical dimension group ID.

The specification on the locations are ignored for MIn/Max replenishment. For Demand replenishment, there is no issue

Are your items handled in the unit Kg (or some other weight unit)? i.e. is there a weight unit on their unit sequence group?
