Hi,

We need to calculate the interest rate for an annuity in AX.

Has somebody made some experience with implementing such a functionality in AX that is doing a calculation similar to the one described here?

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/RATE-function-9F665657-4A7E-4BB7-A030-83FC59E748CE

Would be great if somebody could help.

Thanks,

Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I do think this RATE function is using this formula: financeformulas.net/Annuity_Payment_Formula.html

A mathematician can answer your question in perfect way. I have been in such situation. Years back I was asked to develop, Trend, inside AX. They just showed me Excel Trend formula. I was clueless, for a moment about what they are not providing me, as they just showed me excel formula.

I went on a mathematical forum and by doing some R&D I came to know Trend is calculated by Delta equation of mathematics. Ultimately I were able to figure my issue by equation y=mx+b.

We do know mathematics and algebra that we studied at school but we are not mathematicians. We are Computer Sciene people.

So, it’s not about how we can do it in AX. Doing it in AX is job of few minutes, after we know mathematical formula. I would recommend you to go on any mathematical forum and ask about mathematical formula of this function.

Hi Andre, Yes it is this formula but we need to solve it for "r" - the interest rate. Will try to follow Sohaibs suggestion to check on a math. forum next. Thanks, Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig ,

The example in the link could be hekpful
