Changing an existing number sequence

Greetings!

One of the number sequences we use within the company has run out of numbers to distribute. I checked on the number sequence and it was set to distribute the numbers 1-99 with an added format of "ABCD-##".

I changed the number sequence to distribute numbers 1-999. Now I also need to change the format to "ABCD-###" but when I try to do this AX will give me the message: "Format cannot be changed because active numbers exist in the list."

Is there a way around this so I can change the format? I know my way around AX but have never had to change anything regarding number sequences yet... so any help will be much appreciated!

Thank you! I cleaned up the pending numbers and it accepted my changes to the number format!

Hi Sebasshhh,

This error means that the number sequence is set to be continuous and that there are pending numbers in the status list. Check if you can clean-up these numbers. After that you should be able to change the settings.
